We protect member privacy at every level and with every contact. To respond to inquiries about member issues, we must verify both the identity and the authority of all persons and entities before disclosing non-public personally identifiable information (PII) or protected health information (PHI).
We will ask you for the member name, healthcare ID or Social Security number, and date of birth before disclosing any personally identifiable information or protected health information.
When you contact us on a member’s behalf, we first determine your relationship to the member, and then request the following three pieces of information about the member:
- Name
- Healthcare ID (HCID) or Social Security number
- Date of Birth
Being prepared to provide these three items will help us protect member privacy and will help you get what you need faster.
If you have any questions, please contact your service representative.
