We’re starting our annual effort to encourage members to use paperless billing. It’s a proactive way to encourage real-time connections with our members.
Paperless communication is a simpler, more effective way for members to receive important information from us. We send email alerts when a member’s monthly bill is due, and they are able to log in and make their payment on our mobile app or at anthem.com.
We sent an email August 6 telling members that we’ll switch them to paperless billing in 30 days, unless they opt-out. We’ll send them an email in September to confirm their switch to paperless. If they don’t open the second email, we’ll mail them a postcard with the same information.
A similar effort focused on all communications, not just billing, will launch later this month. We’ll send an email August 31 telling members that we’ll switch them to paperless communication in 30 days, unless they opt-out. We’ll follow the same steps and send the second email a month later.
