Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Virginia President Jeff Ricketts will retire in September after nearly 40 years with the company.
He joined Anthem in 1984 as a sales account representative and progressed through several leadership positions before becoming plan president five years ago. He has been instrumental in Anthem’s growth across the state of Virginia and our continued success as the largest health plan in the state. He has done this while maintaining steadfast support of our broker partners.
Jeff has been an active ambassador for Anthem’s mission and commitment to improving the lives of the Virginia community. He is well-known and highly respected throughout the Virginia business community, having served on numerous boards and actively contributing to the local community. He led several community events, including the Anthem Corporate Run to promote an active lifestyle among area businesses, and the LemonAid fundraisers to support Children’s Hospital of Richmond and Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Hampton Roads.
He will work with the Virginia leadership team to ensure a smooth transition while we begin the search for his replacement.
