Anthem pays annual rebates to Fully Insured groups when their medical loss ratio (MLR) is less than 85% for Large Groups or 80% for Small Groups and Individuals. Each year, we contact impacted groups to verify group size. We use the information to distribute accurate rebates. This year, we will ask for 2021 group size for distribution of MLR rebates in 2023.
We’ll start emailing the surveys to qualifying Small and Large Group clients soon. We may send follow-up emails if we don’t receive a response. We’ll use current membership numbers for groups that don’t respond. We won’t contact clients if we already have the information we need.
