Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) has expanded its oncology services with a new medical oncology partnership with New England Cancer Specialists at CMMC’s new cancer center next to the hospital in Lewiston.
New England Cancer Specialists are the region’s largest cancer care specialty group and an affiliate member of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The new cancer center offers comprehensive, interdisciplinary team-based care, including medical oncology, surgical oncology, and radiation therapy. It includes state-of-the-art linear accelerators, an expanded infusion suite for chemotherapy, a lab and pharmacy, and on-site support in a welcoming facility with convenient parking.
In light of the recent closure of oncology services at St. Mary's Health System, the new CMMC cancer center is ready to take on patients and serve the needs of oncology patients in Lewiston.
This new location and partnership provide better access to care for our members and limit the need to travel to Portland for care.
