May is Disability Insurance Awareness Month. It’s a good time to remind clients of the benefits of short- and long-term disability insurance. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, less than half of employees in the U.S. have access to group disability insurance and can be vulnerable to lost income if they are unable to work due to a disability.
You can help protect the financial wellness of their employees by offering short-term and long-term disability benefits. Nine out of 10 disabilities are a result of illness, not accidents, according to the Council for Disability Awareness.
Our dedicated disability case managers, nurse care managers, health coaches, and other health specialists work with employees, their doctors and their employers to develop health and return-to-work goals. We provide support services and resources to identify and address issues to help employees stay at work and return to work while also reducing medical, absentee and productivity costs.
